The following pictures demostrates the process of removing and complete rebuild of a closet located furnace.
The old Carrier furnace was in poor shape and the evaporator coil on top of the furnace was leaking refrigerant. The closet was in bad shape with evidence of water marks and the closet wasn’t sealed and more importantly the base for the existing equipment was rotted out particle board and return air wasn’t sealed as well, all of this from a previous bad install. We re-wrapped the ducts and and re-lined the supply air plenum. After the closet was re-built and sealed we installed a Lennox Merit Series Furnace with matching evaporator coil and Lennox Merit Series 14 SEER Condenser.
